Puyallup Jaycees
We start out the year with a plan, but it is important to have the follow-through. Otherwise, there are just a lot of good intentions. We have to be willing to do the work. And with Jaycees, the work is not really like work. We build friendships, we strengthen our ties in the community, we run projects that impact lives, we train to be better leaders, we meet other people who are interested in improving their worlds, and we have a lot of fun along the way. When you are doing it, it doesn’t feel like work. The hard part is getting over the hump of not wanting to step out of our comfort zones, or feeling tired when you get home from work and not wanting to go to a project or meeting. We can tackle these obstacles by having fun at the meetings, making the most of our time so people don’t feel like it is a waste of their valuable time, sticking to the agenda and leaving committee work to the committees, running quality projects that are well-planned and promoted, and inviting others to be part of a great opportunity. We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us. We have the potential to take the chapter in a new direction and impact the areas around us. There are a lot of great ideas in the works. We will be serving dinner to the Young Generation club, an old Auburn Jaycee tradition, every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with our traditional softball game and hotdog feed in June. Also, we can always assist the Helping Hands House throughout the year… kind of a chapter priority project. Lots of exciting things. We just have to focus and get the year rolling. We’ve got some potential new members our there and need to show them how great the Puyallup chapter is! Get ready! Get involved! A special thanks to Corey at ADIE for making this web page possible.
