Wall Street Drove in First Week of 2012

Stocks on Wall Street rise recorded in the first week of 2012. Although shaken by the news that the unemployment rate United States (U.S.) reached the lowest in three years.

The Fed Release Interest Rate Predictions

Central Bank of the United States (U.S.) Federal Reserve or the Fed will publish interest rate forecasts on a regular basis in an effort to increase transparency at the agency.

This policy will allow financial market participants and the public get more detailed information about the indication the Fed will create a new interest rate policy in the next few years. Fed Governor Ben Bernanke said the move was a very important milestone in promoting greater transparency of policy, pushing the economy into a better direction, and aligning the market.

As quoted by AFP, the Fed Board of Governors meeting of December 13 last, the banking authority of uncle Sam has decided to enter information about the projection of monetary policy in the Summary of Economic Projections (SEP), which began in early January.

The Fed has set interest rates from 0 to 0.25 percent since December 2008 and has been buying bonds amounting to $ 2, 3 trillion in an effort meningkatkanpertumbuhanekonomi.

Qatar Reluctant to Sell LNG to Pertamina

Scoping import liquefied natural gas or LNG (liquefied natural gas) is carried out of the Qatar-PT Pertamina to supply floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) in the domestic-slow.

Pertamina Gas SVP Nanang Untung said Qatar does not seem so keen to sell its LNG to Indonesia.

Import Quota Not Applied to Horticulture

The government will not restrict imports of horticulture with the quota, but only tighten through the door entry and import risk analysis on the country of origin.

Minister of Agriculture Suswono explain the import of fruit and vegetables will not be given a quota, but tightened through quarantine inspection. Tightening of horticultural imports, he said, will be followed by a regulation from the Ministry of Commerce.

“Some of the products in the category [import limited], tightened up in the Quarantine. There is no reason to stop [imported horticulture], because it is tied to free trade,” he said, today.

According to him, the Ministry of Agriculture will provide recommendations only vegetable and fruit imports. There are several fruit and vegetable products that are restricted imports as well as products that tightened in Quarantine.
